The Center for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE) of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has a new brand identity. Today we unveiled our new logo, visual identity and website.
Founded in 2001 by Prof. Krishnan Balasubramanian, CNDE has evolved from a research lab into one place to take an inspection problem from first question to field solution. Our identity had not kept pace with that growth. The new one reflects what CNDE is today, and where it is heading.
The new mark brings together four ideas: a sonic wave, the Psi (Ψ) symbol, inspection probes and hands, for the science of NDE and the people behind it. NCNDE, the National Consortium for Non-Destructive Evaluation and an initiative of CNDE, carries the same family of identity.
"Over the last 25 years, CNDE has been an academic organisation doing research for the industry," says Prof. Balasubramanian. "In the last couple of years, we realised that the industry demands much more."
